Special Education Advisory Committee (S.E.A.C.)

The Special Education Advisory Committee or S.E.A.C. is a consultative organization composed of three trustees (including a Native Trustee) and of members of provincial organizations dedicated to furthering the interests and needs of exceptional children and adults.

The purpose of this committee is to give input to the school board on matters related to the delivery of special education programs and services. The S.E.A.C. meets ten times a year to discuss such issues as the annual special education plan, the special education budget and the delivery of special education programs and services.
Committee members are approved by the new trustees following the trustee elections. Names of possible members are submitted by the provincial organizations and up to twelve members of provincial organizations may be approved by the trustees. The S.E.A.C. members serve for the same length of time as do trustees.
